COMMUNITY FOOD PROGRAMS

COMMUNITY MARKET
At TEEG we believe that food security is a basic right and have been working hard to make sure that our Community Markets (formerly referred to as Food Pantries) are full of healthy and nutritious options. The option for healthy eating should be accessible for all, and we are prioritizing that in our markets so that everyone can experience the benefits.

WEEKEND FOOD
Woodstock was the first program established with the Evangelical Covenant Church and F.R.E.S.H. to provide weekly distribution to families. Soon after the Thompson Business association stepped up to sponsor the program in their community. In Pomfret, Christ Church and the Pomfret School teamed up to support the program to serve families through the Pomfret Community School.

APPLY FOR SNAP
SNAP helps eligible individuals and families to supplement food budgets at supermarkets, grocery stores, and farmers’ markets. To receive SNAP benefits in Connecticut, household income and other resources must be under certain limits, and are reviewed. For some households, there is also an asset limit.
