Therapeutic MentoringIAM Therapeutic Support (TSS) and Support (SS) Mentoring
Therapeutic Support (TSS) is a service designed to address the individualized needs of a child or youth with complex behavioral health needs. These children and youth have a current diagnosable behavioral condition that results in moderate to acute functional impairment which substantially interferes with the child’s role or functioning in family, school or community activities. This service is intended for children or youth whose level of functioning puts them at risk of entering a residential level of care, disrupting from their home or foster placement, or for children or youth who are being discharged from residential treatment or a more acute level of care.
Youth eligible for TSS services must be 5 years of age, currently active with the Department, identified with a Level III Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) and who are actively receiving Care Coordination services, as well as those who have been identified as at risk for detention. The child or youth may also be residing in a Department-supervised independent living or transitional living arrangement. Referrals may also be made for children who do not meet these criteria, but another compelling clinical reason is present, with RGG approval.
Services include:
-
Connection to community resources (YMCA, Karate, Art Classes, Theater, etc.)
-
Implementation of case plan goals
-
Collaboration with other service providers
IAM is a fee for service program. Referrals are accepted from all DCF offices.

Mentoring
TEEG Programs for At-Risk Youth
Mentors Make a Difference!
TEEG’s mentors are trained to work with youth and are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children in the community.
Our mentors work with youth on an individual basis, focusing their attention on aiding the child in academic achievement, vocational exploration, developing life skills, personal awareness, healthy relationships, and managing emotions. Mentors are positive role models, that introduce youth to positive social environments, community connections, new educational experiences, and cultural opportunities.
The TEEG All-Star Adventure Program (ASAP) is designed to provide summer recreational opportunities for at-risk youth with emotional/behavioral health needs.
Our staff ensures that children who need individual attention and extra support are included in a variety of exciting community-based activities. Designed with the philosophy that no child should be denied a chance to make wonderful childhood memories, ASAP provides the behavioral supports necessary for every child to experience success!
