Energy & Fuel Assistance

TEEG OFFERS ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE FOLLOWING SOURCES:
Operation Fuel:
Qualified individuals and families in Thompson, Woodstock, Pomfret, and Putnam can turn to TEEG to receive cash assistance for heating expenses in crisis situations. Operation Fuel is a private charitable program.
**INCOME GUIDELINES APPLY**

Private Fuel Assistance Funds: 
TEEG offers fuel assistance from a private fuel fund to residents of Thompson, Woodstock and Pomfret. The money in these funds is dependent on the generosity of the community.
**INCOME GUIDELINES APPLY**

CEAP (Connecticut Energy Assistance Program): 
The Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) is designed to help low-income households pay primary heating source bills.
This program is available from August through May each year.

SNAP BENEFITS

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program

SNAP helps eligible individuals and families to supplement food budgets at supermarkets, grocery stores, and farmers’ markets. To receive SNAP benefits in Connecticut, household income and other resources must be under certain limits, and are reviewed. For some households, there is also an asset limit.
