Community Connection for Families with Newborns

Hand in Hand is a free voluntary home visiting program that provides support to parents/caregivers of infants as well as expectant parents in Northeast CT. Our program focuses on increasing community connections, identifying developmental milestones, and assists in increasing parenting confidence through the first five years.

What occurs at a visit:

  • Emotional parenting support

  • Child development information & screenings using Bridgeport Basics and Ages & Stages Questionnaires

  • Parent & child relationship building

  • Family goal planning

  • Community Resource Connections

  • School Readiness

Benefits of the program:

  • Diapers and wipes provided at visits

  • Monthly mom gatherings

  • Field trips

  • Weekly playgroups (open to the public)

  • Biweekly New Mom peer support group (open to the public)
