Senior Assistance Services & Case Management
This program is available to seniors in Thompson, Woodstock and Pomfret. TEEG helps seniors
manage the day-to-day tasks to help them continue to live independently. We work with seniors
on budgeting, filling out confusing forms, referrals to appropriate services, and matching
seniors with volunteer drivers for medical appointments, shopping trips and other errands.
Recognizing the difficulty many seniors have in accessing support, TEEG staff often make
home visits to provide this needed service and assistance.
Visits are available in the TEEG office, at a community center and in home for seniors
without access to transportation. TEEG services include the following:
- Budgeting
- Assistance filling out confusing forms, including DSS, ConnPace, Title 19 and food
stamps
- Assistance with phone calls to local, state and federal agencies
- Advocacy
- Referrals to appropriate services
- Free monthly food distributions to qualified seniors
- Energy assistance during the fuel season to qualified seniors
- Matching seniors with volunteer drivers for medical appointments, shopping trips
and
other engagements
- Assistance with Medicare/Medicaid questions
- Access to all offerings in the Food
Security, Community and Family Programs
