Charting Our Course
A Message from Dushy Mahendran, TEEG President
A Message from Dushy Mahendran, TEEG President It is with great honor and
pride that I report the successful completion of yet another year filled with challenges
overcome, opportunities realized and accomplishments made. The work of TEEG continues to
have a positive impact that ripples through our community by making a difference in people’s lives. As our Board
of Directors charts a course for the future, it is of utmost importance that as we grow,
we don’t lose perspective. Our focus has always been on the individuals and families
that we serve. As an agency, we must continue and renew our commitment to the Thompson community.
At the same time, we must find ways to provide basic social services and support for seniors
in neighboring towns who wish to work with us.
TEEG is not afraid to explore uncharted waters. To the contrary, we embrace new challenges
and look forward to new opportunities. We consider it a great privilege to have our agency
be referred to as a role model for other social service agencies throughout the state.
We embrace the opportunity to work with new community partners on new initiatives. We are
proud to be working collaboratively with other area providers to expand access to prevention
and wellness services in our community. The success our agency has enjoyed over the past
20 years is the result of our dedication to empower individuals. When this happens, people
are better able to help themselves and contribute to the community. By helping one person,
that person is able to help someone else, and so on. Sometimes called “pay it forward,” we
like to think of it as the Ripple Effect. As we celebrate our 20 years of service, I personally
want to thank the greater TEEG community for their countless contributions and endless support.
We are proud of our community, our legislators and our staff that have brought us to this
level of success.
